Physical Attributes

Hair: Ginger red with some gray streaks through it. Long, just past his shoulders, and usually restrained in a braid or queue at the nape of his neck.Eyes: Left is a dark blue, right is a milky white from scar tissue. He is blind in his right eye.Height: 6 fulmsBuild: Broad shoulders, stocky, muscled.Distinguishing Features: A deep, jagged scar start from his hairline that goes down across his right eye. It extends just down his right cheekbone. Another scar at the left corner of his lips, carving a path from just to the side of his nose to cut down across his lower lip to his chin. He mostly keeps a short, stubbled beard that's a slight shade darker than his ginger hair, slightly salted with gray.Beneath his clothing, there are various scars from battle but there are two that stand out the most. One is a deep, cleanly healed scar that runs from the top of his left shoulder, across his spine, and down to his lower right ribcage. The second is a deep, jagged and poorly healed scar that starts at the base of his throat and loops around. If someone is savvy enough, they can probably surmise that it's this scar that is the probably cause of the roughened rasp to his baritone voice.Weapons: A bow and quiver can be seen slung across his back more often than not. A shortsword is sheathed at his hip and there is a dagger tucked into each boot.Accessories: An eye patch covering his right eye; Lysander is very rarely seen without it for obvious reasons.

Personal Information

Personality: Quiet and sometimes taciturn, but will hold conversation when needed. It's clear that, when he speaks, he puts thought into his words. A roughened outside hides a calm, gentle demeanor...this can often be seen with animals and patients, as well as the occasional child he encounters. What some may call 'lone wolf tendencies', Lysander calls 'self-sufficient'. He can be stubborn, specifically when injured, and it's a rare occasion he asks for help. He does have some trust issues.However, after he gets to know someone, they gain his loyalty and trust until they prove otherwise. He is protective of the people he cares for and would give the shirt off his back if asked. His temper takes a long time to ignite, though harming an innocent animal or person is a quick way to ignite it.Professions: General, low key adventurer is the best way to put it. He survives off of completing leves and tracking items or people. He'll do general mercenary work, as well, but only after he has thoroughly investigated the cause and the source of gil.Hobbies: Botany and Alchemy are his hobbies, tending to be far more useful in the field and caring for those in dire straits. RP Hooks

  • Formerly of the Twin Adders - Lysander was enlisted in the Twin Adders a few years prior to the Calamity and achieved Private, First Class. During the Battle of Carteneau, he had been severely wounded and honorably discharged from service.

  • Field Medic/Chirurgeon - During his time with the Adders and staying in the barracks, he picked up information about field medicine. Since his discharge Post-Calamity, he apprenticed under an Elezen, Honore Deschaines, in an effort to learn more about natural and mundane healing methods. The woman taught him some magical restorative techniques, but they tend to severely tax him.

  • Survivalist - Posting a leve to recover a stolen item? Need a creature tracked and dispatched? Lysander is your man. He's well-traveled and knows the wilderness, having few to no qualms to hunt down some bandits or thieves, return the item to the rightful owner, and then turn the perpetrators into the proper authorities.

  • Kind Soul - Lysander, having made a bit of a home for himself in Ul'dah, can be seen often tending the Ala Mhigan refugees or those that are down on their luck in Pearl Lane. He uses his Chirurgeon skills to tend wounds and illnesses, some times bringing some extra food to distribute to his patients to ensure they are on the mend. Botany and Alchemy are some of his skills; he tries to use them to help the people that are most in need.

  • Former Courtesan: When one grows up in a brothel, one can learn a thing or two. Lysander's mother was a courtesan in a brothel and, when of age, Lysander worked security for them...as well as taking a few clients. He left the small venue in the Lavender Beds when he chose to enlist with the Adders.

Storyline

Lysander is from Gridania, having grown up in a brothel there, and was based there for years. It's only within the last year or two that he's moved to Ul'dah, finding that the warmth of the desert and few rain storms doesn't necessarily agitate old injuries as much as the Gridanian climate did.He can often be found just outside the walls, working with the Refugees there, and wandering through the area outside Ul'dah's walls for herbs. His usual haunt, like many travelers in the City, is the Quicksand. He has a small apartment in the Goblet to retreat to. (This has yet to be purchased/done.)

My name is Rae and I'm a roleplayer with experience across several platforms. I'm casually lore compliant with the ability to roll with creative expression - magic, after all, tends to be limited by only your imagination. Right?I tend to be drawn to long-term, story driven plot and I'm looking for a partner who shares the same interests. Crime, fantasy, drama, dark, mature themes with intricate and deep character development are all things that I look for and enjoy in RP. I do enjoy some slice-of-life RP interspersed in there to allow characters to connect or establish a deeper relationship. I often feel that characters do need a respite from the dangers they face and the adventures they go on; a little R&R at home with a meal and a cozy fire sometimes should be played out.I'm not adverse to ERP, but do prefer it to be story-driven and done through natural progression of scenes. Due to this, I ask that my RP partner and fellow story writer is 18+. ERP not your thing? I'm chill with a fade-to-black scenario, even if the scene has already gotten smutty - consent and player comfort is incredibly important.I'm in my early 30s, I work in an education setting, and I'm pursuing a Masters degree. There are days when I'm tired and might not be all that social; I do ask for some understanding and flexibility. In light of that, I will be open and communicative if I'm not feeling like RP or if I'm able to RP, but posts may be slow (and, at times, possibly a little less detailed than I normally would go into). I will likely say 'hello' at least once daily and chat a bit; I'm an adult and value the person behind the screen.I have a clear understanding of the IC/OOC line and I expect the same of my writing/RP partner. I'm based in the EST Timezone of the US and I'm open to RP partners in any timezone. I can usually make things work - especially with working from home due to the current pandemic.
